An established medical communications agency is available for acquisition. Based in New Jersey, at the heart of the US pharmaceutical corridor, it designs and delivers scientific and marketing communications programs for pharma Medical Affairs and Marketing teams, from scientific platform development through to launch. Its strongest work is in advisory boards, KOL engagement, scientific content and field medical training, delivered by a lean senior team, PharmD-qualified clinical directors and shared services. The owner wants to step back after 31 years, and the senior team that already leads the client relationships and program delivery will transfer with the business.
By the numbers (FY25, USD)
Revenue of $1.87m, up from $0.94m in FY23
Gross margin of 80% in both FY24 and FY25
Management adjusted EBITDA of $1.02m, a 54% margin
Overheads held flat at $610k to $670k a year while revenue doubled
Core client relationship of ten years, under a master agreement renewed to 2029
21 pharma and healthcare clients served over the last 15 years
What makes it rare
The agency sits inside a blue-chip pharma franchise. Its core client is a global specialty pharma company it has served since 2015 across three dermatology brands, under a master services agreement signed in 2019 and renewed three times, most recently to May 2029, and revenue from that client doubled between 2023 and 2025. The work is high-science and senior-led, with credentialed clinical directors who hold peer-reviewed publications and deep neurology and Alzheimer's expertise, so pass-through costs stay low and margins stay above 50%. It covers the full lifecycle for both medical and commercial teams, and a second global master agreement with another large pharma company remains in force through 2029, giving a buyer a ready framework for new work.
Who this suits
The agency suits a healthcare communications group or marketing platform looking to add Medical Affairs, scientific and KOL capability with an established pharma relationship attached. It would also fit a private equity backed healthcare platform building a medical communications offer through acquisition, or a group with dermatology, immunology or neurology clients where the agency's track record is directly relevant.
Deal and transition
The owner is stepping back and will support a defined transition period to hand over relationships, in a role agreed with the buyer. The senior client lead and the program manager transfer with the business, and non-core items will be separated before completion so a buyer acquires a clean business. Full financials, client profile and deal terms are available under NDA.
